FL Studio Samples. Browse our collection of FL Studio samples, Fruity Loops packs, loop libraries and Fruity Loops sound banks. All FL Studio samples are available to download 100% royalty free for use in your music production or sound design project. In this lesson you will learn how to install sample packs in FL Studio or how to use samples in FL Studio. Have your sample pack in a folder. When you download a sample pack, it’s typically “packed” as a.ZIP file and stored somewhere on your hard drive.

In from argentina (sorry for my bad english) and i started to produce in fl studio. I have a problem: I dont know exactly how to sample. Everytime i tried to make a beat, it sounds messy and out of time.

I know theres a lot of ways to do it: I tried drop the mp3 on the playlist and cutting the part i like, and time streching to the bar (i even dont know how to use it without changing the pitch and speed of the sample) I tried to use slicex, put markers and play it from the piano roll, but i cant do it properly cause every marker has a diferent duration and dosent fit on the bar when i play it. And also tried Edison and cut the parts and drop it on the fpc. But every time i play its sounds 'the whole sound'. Can everyone explain how to sample correctly or what are the basics? The diference between edison and slicex? (far as i know, slicex are better to chop drums) And how to use the time streching and pitch in the right way? Again, sorry for the bad english and hope someone help me.

Truthfully, there is no 'correct' way of doing it. Everyone has their own preferences and methods, but the best advice is to just try things out and see what works for you. I'd suggest starting by getting a basic drum pattern running (using stock sounds even if you're not comfortable with sampled drums yet) and then experiment by layering in samples over your drums. If you're chopping samples up a lot it's natural that the chops will differ in length. I'd suggest using a sample without too much going on in it (e.g no drums, just say keys & bass) and get a feel for working with something quite clean like that first.

You're unsure of the difference between pitching and timestretching or just not sure how to do it on technical level? Chris Read Truthfully, there is no 'correct' way of doing it. Hey, thanks for the advise I think i dont know how to to use pitch and time streching. Pitch is for change the tone of the sample and time streching is for moving up or down the speed of the sample. Mondolagarto I think i dont know how to to use pitch and time streching. Pitch is for change the tone of the sample and time streching is for moving up or down the speed of the sample.

Pitch is the speed at which the sample plays. Imagine the pitch control on a record player - the faster the record spins, the faster the track (or sample plays). As the track speeds up this also has the effect of making the pitch/tone higher. Same in reverse - if you pitch down, the record will both take longer to play and sound lower in tone. On a program like FL you can alter pitch by assigning the sample to keys on the piano roll (or by smaller increments in another edit window). Middle C on the keyboard plays the sample at true pitch - moving the sample up or down the keyboard from there will increase / decrease the pitch.

Timestretching has nothing to do with speed, but is to do with length. If you timestretch a sample, you change its length (the amount of time for which it plays) without altering the tone. It is, as the name suggests, simply stretching the wave form. This is useful for extending a sample's length by small amounts to fill an unwanted gap or to drag a sample into time but will result in lower audio quality if used to make significant changes to the length of your sample.

Check out my Tutorial where I break down Edison and SliceX and Sampling on how to use SliceX like a MPC. I go into detail about the relationship between the playlist grid and the lines in Edison and SliceX and what it has to do with chopping your sample easily.

I show you how to find the BPM/Tempo Of your sample with Edison and how to auto chop exactly where you want the chops to go I go into a lot more detail give it a view and if you need any further help just hit me up all my info is under my vids thanks man‼️🤘🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Dye Your Local HipHop Junkie. HI, everyone!

Sorry for been out too long. I was busy doing things. And I been playing with fl studio and i discovered a way to sample that works fine for me: Using edison to choose the file, chop the sample and dropping the selection into the playlist.

Then i click on the sample and change the Pitch and Time Streching values to find the sound that i like and fit it to the beat or bar. It gives me good results. I will read all of your comments and check out DiscipleDye video to learn more Thanks guys!
